History

My father and I during a bike trip on San Juan Island    I was born on March 11th, 1990 to Craig and Linda Nolte. I grew up in Mill Creek, WA, attending elementary school at Mill Creek Elementary School. During my childhood years I enjoyed playing video games, biking, computers, traveling, and hanging out with friends. In fourth grade I went with my family to St. Lucia in the Caribbean, where I experienced one of my most memorable trips. In fifth grade I got my first job as a route carrier for the Mill Creek Enterprise, which is a local weekly paper run by The Everett Herald. During my time with the paper, I was awarded twice "The Carrier of the Year" for my excellent service. I went to Heatherwood Middle School, where I was involved in Tech Club and Science Club. During 8th grade I went on a mission trip with my church to Mexico. On the mission trip I worked clearing out fields and working with the local children at an orphanage called Rancho De Sus Niños in Tecate.

Digging a 6 foot ditch in Chile    I went on to Henry M. Jackson High School where I played on the JV Tennis team. While at Henry M. Jackson I enjoyed studying Spanish, as I completed 3 years of studying. My Freshman year I went to Chile on another mission trip. During this mission trip I stayed with locals in the town, which was a great cultural experience for me. The mission team helped build a soccer field in the back of a church, providing the church with more ability to extend their outreach program. I loved the people, the places, and the experience in Chile. Later that year I went on a Cruise with my family to Mexico, where we all had a an amazing time. During my Junior year quit my paper route and got a position working at Circuit City selling computers, where I learned valuable sales and customer service experience.

Helping out as a camp councilor at Camp Beracah     I enjoyed my time at the High School, but decided that I was better fit in a more challenging environment and joined Running Start. I went to Cascadia Community College for just over a year and then continued at Edmonds Community College. During my Junior year Summer I quit my job at Circuit City so that I could go on a few church trips and attend a conference. I went with Canyon Hills Community Church to a kids camp called Camp Berachah in Auburn, WA where I helped be a camp councilor. After that, I went with the same church to Wenatchee, WA on a kids mission trip where we worked long hours helping the homeless. When I got back, I went with a group of youth from the Snohomish County Federated Health and Safety Network to a leadership conference (CADCA NYLI) in Tucson, Arizona where I learned priceless skills and strategies of community organization.

My family on at Shipwreck Beach on Kauai, Hawaii    Throughout my life my family has always been very important to me. I have my mother and father to thank for raising me the way that they have and always being there for me no matter what. My sister, Kristen has also been very supportive of me, always there to help me with my tough coursework. My grandparents Bob and Shirley Warren have always brought great joy to my heart. I have a lot of great childhood memories taking trips with them. My grandparents Lloyd and Jackie Nolte have always been great in supporting me at all times. I have great memories of our family get togethers growing up at their house.
